1st Dental Visit

Mia had her first dental appointment today.  She had 15 cavities on 9 different teeth, and may possibly lose her 4 front top teeth.  We go back April 3, for a second opinion.  This dentist would admit her into the hospital and sedate her to do all work at once.  We are praying she can keep her front teeth.

I am a mess!

So I had a hysterectomy on July 15, 2011.  I have had pain on and off since then, but just thought it was from my surgery.  I went back to my OB/GYN yesterday, and this is what they found.

All of that black space shouln't be there.  It is a large cyst on my right ovary.  I go back in 3 weeks to get it measured again.  Hopefully it will have started to go down, if not I will have to be admitted, and surgery done to remove it.  Please pray this doesn't rupture.  They said that would be worst case scenario at this point.  Would be extremely  painful.

Cincinnati Childrens Visit

This week was our visit to 4 of Mia's specialists- Pulmonary, Gastro, and 2 Geneticists.  Our pulmonary visit went great!  Mia was able to come off 10 different medications.  So she is now on only 2 medications.  January of this year we were on 14 a day!  I feel a great part of this is due to the Gluten Free diet change.  Mia doesn't have to go back to pulmonary until Septemeber.  Possibly at that time they may put her on a maint. medication for the winter months, since that seems to be the hardest time for her.   Gasto was a joke.  He was the rudest doctor I have ever met.  I told him we would never be back, as he was not worth talking too.  Gentics wants to test Craig and I, but the cost is $2,000, which at this point we dont have extra money to do that testing.  They did say however that her duplication is on the part of the gene that is tied to brain function.  Her duplication is one they dont have a lot of information on, so we will go back once a year to see if they have discovered any new information, and they will also track her progess.  Mia did so well at her visits.  Only 1 tantrum!!! I was super excited, and so proud of my baby girl.

Upcoming Visit

We will be seeing our geneticist for the first time this coming week.  We ask for prayer in safe travel, and that our visit will be a positive one.  We will be seeing 4 specialist that day. 

We also have our first dentist appointment coming up this month.  I am not looking forward to this visit.  I hope it goes better than I expect.

Mia's 1st Physical Therapy Visit

Mia had her physical therapy evaluation yesterday.  She was diagnosed with ankle pronation with calcaneal valgus in both feet.  They are going to have to fit her for a SureStep splint for both feet.  Will need prayers that she will wear these, and that the measuring and fitting for these will not be hard on her.
