Me and Jenny McCarthy |
May 2013 was my first trip to the Autism One Conference in
Chicago. It was also my very first time ever
in a taxi. As I walked from that taxi into the hotel, I had no clue how
life changing that conference would be for my family.
I am very thankful to those who helped me get there especially my husband, Craig, who did a great job in keeping everything consistent and taking care of Mia. The conference inspired and empowered me, so many testimonies, so many other parents like me and Craig, so many kids like Mia.
The information I got could have been overwhelming. I had learned that simple steps worked best for Mia. For example, one five to ten minute conversation with a biomedical doctor ended up curing one of Mia's recurring problems. Of all the ointments, tests, and medicines, the answer was so simple and the condition very preventable.

And... I must confess. Hearing Jenny McCarthy speak and advocate for autistic kids was both powerful and cool.
This year’s Autism One Conference is May 20-24. I look forward to the experience.
