Small important pieces of her care can easily fall between the cracks. Along with faith, it takes a system. Here are three approaches I use that help me stay organized and keeps communications clear and concise.
- A four-wheeled kitchen cart - This cart was more like a portable kitchen island with a stainless steel top, cabinet on the bottom, and we installed shelves on top. There we kept medication, an old school paper calendar. We made notes about appointment and observations on the calendar.
- Yearly Medical Summary – All Mia’s data needs to be in one place. We request medical records for all her doctors and specialist each year. About 15,000 pages have been digitized.
- Pictures for appointments – A picture adds to the dialogue with the physicians about allergies and reactions. Pictures help me remember important details as well.
